It's always an honor to be asked to photograph a wedding by the mother of the bride. It's an entirely bigger honor when you are asked back to photographer another daughter!
The location was the same as before. A private residence in Charlotte, N.C. sitting lakeside with their own private dock. The area was complete with a outdoor dancefloor ready for evening of dancing underneath the stars with family and friends.
In front of the residence was an antique hotrod which would later be used as the getaway car during their sparkler exit. I had decide that the front of the residence along with the hotrod would make for some great images.
While I was getting ready to capture a portrait of the newlyweds I caught out of the corner of my eye, them dancing along to the musice being played back at the dance floor. Simple twirls and a private moment together made this image come alive with this single capture.
What really lets you concentrate on the couple is the fact that the image was shot at a very shallow depth of field. This capture was made at f/1.4 using my Nikon Nikkor 85mm lens. It really allows you to isolate your subject while providing you this amazing bokeh in the background that is only possible with such shallow depths of field.
